What we collect

To run your account, we collect: your email address and authentication details (via Firebase Authentication); the trade data you enter manually, import via CSV, or sync from a connected broker or exchange; account and prop-firm challenge settings you configure; and, if you connect a broker or exchange, a read-only API key or sync credential for that connection.

How your trading data is stored and scoped

Your trades, accounts, and settings are stored in our database (Google Firestore) under your account only, and access is enforced at the database level — other users' queries cannot read your data, and neither can we, outside of support requests you initiate yourself.

Broker and exchange sync

If you connect MT5 or a supported exchange, we store the credential needed to read your trade history and use it only to sync trades into your journal. We request read-only access wherever the broker or exchange supports it, and we never use these credentials to place trades or move funds on your behalf.

AI features

Trade analysis and screenshot/rule extraction send only your own account's data (or the screenshot/text you explicitly provide) to the AI model that generates the result. Your data is not pooled with other users' data to train any model.

Third-party services we use

Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, hosting, and serverless functions.
Google Analytics — anonymized usage analytics, to understand how the app is used.
Email delivery — transactional email (account verification, password reset, notifications) is sent through our email provider.
Stripe — payment processing, used only for optional paid community-group features. Birr Journal itself is free during early access.
Market data and news providers — used to power the news feed and economic calendar; these do not receive your personal or trading data.

Cookies

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (like theme). A cookie banner is shown on your first visit.

Your choices

You can disconnect a broker or exchange, delete individual trades, export your data, or permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings at any time.
